The Broken Chain, Chapter SixChapter Six: The Technician's TestThe Broken Chain, Chapter Six
It had been a few months since the three Deviants of the Taeran Shelter began training their powers out in the forest with Jalde and Vincent. Jalde was toppled by Ezra and Vincent bent over, panting heavily. "Hoo, hahh... I can't keep up with you kids anymore, even using Limit Breaks." Vincent said, as he laid his halberd against a nearby tree. Ezra grinned, extending a hand to the overrun Jalde.
"I don't know how you can knock me over when you're nearly six years younger." Jalde said, as he took Ezra's hand shamefully. "I guess I'm getting the handle of this limit break stuff

The Broken Chain, Chapter FiveChapter Five Training DayThe Broken Chain, Chapter Five
Roughly a year had passed since Ezra had come into the Taeran family. On the register, Vincent had marked him down as Ezra Taeran Nullus and he had been an official resident of Rosten for nearly a half year. There was a residency test for Blurrs, which Ezra found fairly demeaning. What was worse in his opinion, were the degree of soldiers surrounding them and the arrogance of the proctor of the test.
But now, Vincent lead Ezra, Amabel, Shall and Jalde into the woods. The snow had let up for the day, and the sky was managing to poke through the gray haze of the Great Squall that appear

Stardust"Wowww. Look at all of em!" A girl shouted, chasing the blinking lights in the dark yard. "Yeah, aren't they cool? All of 'em come out at this time, usually once a summer." A young boy commented, watching the girl laugh and chase the fireflies around the yard. The humid summer air was thick with the unusual insects, flashing their brilliance at the two children, dancing around them while they caught them in jars and bathed themselves in the little bugs' glow.Stardust
"You should come by every year to see this." The boy said, and the girl smiled, twirling her short ponytail with her finger. "I should." She said softly, as she began to un

The sun was just setting over the horizon when Jalde saw the most peculiar thing. Shocked, he dropped the crate he had been carrying instead of placing it on top of the other supplies that they had just purchased from a merchant ship. "Hey, Vincent... what the hell is that?" He asked to a man in his middle thirties. "What the hell is what, Jalde?" Vincent asked, and Jalde pointed out towards over the docks. Vincent poked my head around the corner of the building he had been moving the crates into. His eyes widened, as he rushed towards Jalde. "Fuck!" He exclaimed, as he reached out an

Why are you still looking? he sighed as he propped himself up on an elbow. You are an unlucky son of a gun. I want to give you some luck. She smiled at him through her sandy hair; her dirty fingers were still rummaging through the clovers. Im lucky enough. I got you right? Anyway who said weeds were lucky? They arent weeds. They are lucky. You just have to believe. He smiled over how she spoke with such authority. And I suppo

| You'd be worried if you knew how many times I've thought that. If you happen to come to this page for whatever reason, think you could do me a favor and read some of my stories? If you leave a comment as well, it'd be highly appreciated. :3 I've always been a writer at heart and have been writing since I started middle school. I'm always looking to things around me and how I could create a story from it. Scenery, people, a single event in my life... everything is material and inspiration and usually finds it's way into my writing. So far my writing projects here are as follows: Novels: The Broken Chain The Black Screen Short Story Series: Seasonal Loves The Broken Chain is a horror/fantasy tale about a boy who loses his memory after falling into an ocean that steals your memories, and struggles to find his past while fighting to create a future for himself in a surreal world of prejudice and strange powers. The Black Screen on the other hand is mainly a psychological/emotional story involving a young woman who copes with the loss of her father and the mysterious computer he left for her in his study. Seasonal Loves is a series of short stories involving love and the seasons of the year. I plan to have four short stories, one for each season. My main focus in these short stories is to make the reader feel the emotions of the main character. I try to make a habit of posting one novel chapter and short story per day, so add me to your deviantwatch if you've liked what you've seen. Hope you enjoy. |
